OUR TEAM

Doing anything of value requires teamwork.

One of the problems faced by the New Testament church was how to handle the ministry needs popping up as the community of disciples of Jesus grew. In the book of Acts in chapter 6 the answer to meeting those needs was to add layers of qualified ministry leadership which evolved into having some being recognized as Elders (spiritual leaders) and some Deacons (servant ministers) to best serve the Lord and His church. At Northbridge we follow the same model of developing qualified layers of ministry leadership, with an emphasis on raising up disciples from within our church to fill those roles. We are blessed to have such Elders, Staff and Deacons to reflect that New Testament leadership model.

Joe Warring, Lead Pastor

Pastor Joe has been leading Northbridge since October 2015.  His leadership background includes executive management in the business world and for the last 25 years he has served in various Christian non-profit executive positions at the local, national, and international level. He holds a Business Management degree from the University of Maryland School of Business, and a Masters degree in Theology from Regent University School of Divinity.

Joe is a passionate teacher and expositor of the Bible and specializes in the early church's historical context, with a gifting to communicate the Bible in a way that makes it more understandable and applicable for our lives. His heart is to build mature disciples of Jesus and then empower them to become better faith-fueled leaders in their homes, their workplace, and their Kingdom calling in the world.

Patrick Luke, Resident Missionary

Pastor Patrick Luke, Sr., served at Northbridge from 2007 to 2023 when he retired from active church Staff ministry and transitioned into leading his own international missions initiative.

Born in Liberia (West Africa), Patrick always had a long-held vision to return one day to serve his home nation. After serving in pastor ministry for several decades, in 2017 the initial vision to launch a long-term mission ministry to Liberia got traction, and “Agape Liberia Mission” (ALM) was born. In 2019 ALM was officially launched with the support of Northbridge, and in December 2023 Patrick transitioned to full-time leadership of ALM — see almission.org for more info.

Patrick remains associated with Northbridge as an At-Large Resident Missionary.

Our Elders

Church elders have a rich history rooted in the early Christian community, where they served as spiritual leaders. Originating from the biblical model, elders were appointed to oversee the spiritual well-being of congregations, ensuring sound doctrine and fostering community growth. Their role is vital in providing wisdom, accountability, and support, helping to nurture the faith of church members and maintain the integrity of the church's mission. Today, our elders continue this by playing a crucial part in church governance and offering guidance and leadership that reflects the values and teachings of the faith.

Our Deacons

The role of Deacon is drawn from the servant leadership model of the early church as described in the New Testament.  In fact, the word deacon simply means “servant” in the original Greek language of the New Testament.  The men in this qualified and elected position have exhibited a combination of a mature faith walk, commitment to serving others in the church, and play a key role as an extension of the Pastoral ministry.
